A meaningful capability statement describes a combination of features supported in one construction. Maximum layer count and minimum hole diameter from different rows may not be simultaneously achievable.
What to consider
Ask for standard production, advanced review and development limits to be distinguished. Tie conductor width, copper thickness, laser geometry, registration, material and panel size to the proposed board. Require exceptions to be visible in the quote rather than discovered during tooling.
A practical review example
Send one representative stackup and request a marked-up response showing accepted features and required changes. This is more useful than comparing the smallest advertised number on two websites.
Checks before release
- Check the complete feature combination.
- Request qualification and inspection evidence relevant to your board.
- Separate a design reference from a supplier commitment.
Connect this decision to fabrication
Use the lamination guide to organize the initial discussion. Keep proposed values separate from the approved drawing and document the effect of any change on the rest of the construction.
- Ask the fabricator to confirm the complete construction in writing.
- Resolve manufacturing exceptions before tooling.
- Retain the approved drawing, stackup and inspection plan with the release.
